The project is about taking something and turning it “Inside Out” to reveal something unexpected on the inside. I wanted to base my project around rocks because usually the outside is quite boring and it isn’t until you cut into the rock that they start to become quite pretty. I wanted to use abstract art to show this because you can be more expressive and with the use of different texture I thought it would make the subject of rocks more interesting to look at. I researched an abstract artist called Karine Leger to see how she use abstract art to show nature and I took some of the ways she does this and incorporated this into my own work.
