This project is all about time, how it is a concept that is quite an eerie and confusing concept that we do not know much about. The longer you think about it, the more confusing it can become and it can leave you questioning reality. In my photos I went through a journey starting in the past and going towards the future, I created a universe where the past, present and the future all exist together each represented by different colours. Black and White represent the past where as brighter colours such as yellow and blue represent the future.

Inspirations

The main inspirations for this time project have been Alexey Titerenko and Mark Rothko. Alexey Titerenko, is a Russian photographer who is known for taking long exposure shots in black and white of the streets and people surrounding him. The project that I took my main amount of inspiration from is “City Of Shadows” which merges crowds of people creating an unidentifiable blur which I applied to the concept of time.

Mark Rothko was an American abstract painter who was known for his colour field paintings. I took inspiration from how he uses colour theory where certain colours create certain feelings such as yellow is a warning colour or blue is seen as a sad colour. I applied this to my images to create feelings to the passing of time.
